AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "An unusual meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The plot features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana together with several items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also adds the game's newest free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime series. The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
